From your darkest nightmares...
In an very intriguing piece of news, it seems that Disney is moving forward with a live-action adaptation of the "Night on Bald Mountain" sequence from the 1940 classic "Fantasia". The 11-minute segment involves a dark winged creature, called the Chernobog, who raises various spirits from the dead. The spirits begin to dance around the Chernobog until the light of day draws near, forcing them to retreat back into the darkness.
This piece of news is making me rather sad because creating a live-action version of this beautiful sequence from Fantasia has been one of my goals in life for years. It is unfortunate they are already taking this idea to the next level but I am also happy to see someone else's vision of a live-action "Night on Bald Mountain".
