Comcast Acquires DreamWorks Animation For $3.8 Billion

Another major billion-dollar deal has been made.

Earlier today, it has been officially announced that Comcast, specifically the NBCUniversal division, has acquired DreamWorks Animation in a $3.8 billion deal. NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke has stated that "DreamWorks will help us grow our film, television, theme parks and consumer products businesses for years to come." Because of this new deal with Comcast, current CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg will give up his leadership position but will continue to have some involvement in the company's future. From here on out, properties like the "Shrek", "Madagascar" and "Kung Fu Panda" franchise will be owned by NBCUniversal.

What are your thoughts on Comcast owning Dreamworks Animation?
