That's right. Feeling old yet? "Iron Man" came out 8 years ago today, May 2nd, and was a smash hit with critics and audiences, which ultimately kickstarted the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also single-handedly brought Robert Downey Jr's career back from the dead. Director Jon Favreau crafted a genuinely fun, exciting and memorable superhero film that gave a breath of fresh air in the superhero genre, which wasn't doing particularly well during the time this film came out. It's all because of this one film, we got to see the Avengers team up in 2012 and 2015 and also prompted DC Comics and Godzilla/King Kong to do their own cinematic universe.Thank you for all you've accomplished, "Iron Man".
This is still probably in the top 5 best MCU films so far. What a great flick.
