Harry Shearer Leaving "The Simpsons" After 26 Years

As a fan of the long-running show, this is truly sad.

Earlier today, it was reported that Harry Shearer, the voice of Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, Kent Brockman, and so many more iconic characters, will be leaving "The Simpsons" after 26 years. It has been reported that Shearer was offered the same deal as the rest of the cast members, but turned down the offer in order to pursue other projects. It has been reported that Shearer was offered $14 million to return to the 27 and 28th season of "The Simpsons".

Al Jean tweeted after the announcement that "the show will go on" and added that they would not kill of the iconic characters Shearer has voiced over the years and that they would replace them with "the finest voiceover talent available". He also said that they are "hoping he might come back" and that nothing is truly set in stone as of right now.

This is definitely a sad day to be a fan of "The Simpsons". I've been watching the show since I was a little kid and loved all the characters that Shearer voiced for their individual personalities that were so intricate and lively. He was a man of many voices and we will be missed.

"The Simpsons" will never be the same without you, Harry.

Thank you for 26 years of hilarity.

New "Planet of the Apes" Title Revealed

War is coming.

Rumors are circulating online that the next "Planet of the Apes" film, which is the sequel to last year's critically acclaimed "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", will be titled "War of the Planet of the Apes."

Definitely a fitting title considering what happens at the end of "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes". I'm very excited to see the sequel, which has a release date of July 14th, 2017 with Matt Reeves returning to direct.

CBS's "Supergirl" Releases First Trailer

The newest DC television show just dropped their first trailer.

A few months ago, CBS revealed an official look at Melissa Benoist ("Glee") as Supergirl and yesterday, the channel has revealed the first look at the show and... I already don't like it. Melissa Benoist looks fantastic as Kara Zor-El [and seems to have fun playing her], but the tone of the show is very sitcom-y and I don't know how to feel about it.

This is a huge departure from shows like "Gotham", "Arrow", and "The Flash" that all, to a certain degree, have a sense of realism and grit along with some humorous moments, mostly seen in "The Flash". This is definitely a more comedy centric sitcom styled superhero show and that is not what I wanted for Supergirl. Sure, humor is always good to have, but this almost enters parody territory.

"Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron" Breaks Records In China

It seems that China was hit by a Marvel storm.

"Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron" has set a record in China for the biggest non-weekend opening ever, grossing $33.9 million, which is twice as what "Iron Man 3" and "The Avengers" made over there. The record for the highest grossing weekend at the box office in China is still held by "Furious 7".

Looks like "Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron" will break a billion dollars next week and will definitely surpass the first film at the box office.

Bradley Cooper Returning To "Limitless"

It was announced some time ago that CBS will be making a primetime show based on the 2011 film "Limitless" and now it seems the star of the film will be featured as a recurring role in the show.

Back in 2011, Bradley Cooper played a struggling writer, Edward Mora, who obtains superhuman abilities from an untested pharmaceutical drug, NZT, which gives him access to untouched parts of the human brain. The film made over $160 million at the box office and was generally well received by critics and the movie going audience so making a spin-off show based on the film seemed appropriate.

Earlier today, it was just been announced the Cooper will reprise his role as Edward Mora for a supporting role in the new CBS show.

This news actually got me pretty excited to see the "Limitless" show. Definitely one to check out when it comes out this fall on CBS.

James McAvoy Going Bald For "X-Men: Apocalypse"

We all liked James McAvoy as Professor X in "X-Men: First Class", then, 3 year later, we were blown away by his incredible performance in "X-Men: Days of Future Past". But fans have been wanting to see that classic Professor X look on McAvoy ever since 2011. Now, it looks like it's finally happening.

Yesterday, Bryan Singer, director of "X-Men", "X2: X-Men United" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past", took to Instagram and posted this picture:

Never thought I'd be this excited seeing an actor shave his head for a role.

This is so fantastic! We finally get to see young Professor X transition into the iconic version of himself played by great Patrick Stewart in the X-Men films. It will be interesting to see Xavier, who started out as a young, cocky, somewhat arrogant intellectual become that spiritual, gentle mentor that we have seen in the previous films.
