"Ghost In The Shell" Remake Begins Production, First Look Revealed

A classic anime is coming to life on the big screen here in the states.

Today, Paramount Pictures has officially begun its production of the American live-action remake of the classic anime film "Ghost in the Shell" and released the first official look at Scarlett Johansson as the main protagonist, based on the character Motoko Kusanagi. Whether or not she plays the Japanese version of the character is still unknown.

There are many pointing fingers at this film with accusations of whitewashing the original source material. I respectfully disagree as this is the Western remake of the anime film. It is highly unlikely the characters we will see in the film are Japanese. As long as the film pays its respect to the spirit of the original source material, I believe it is not a case of whitewashing, unlike films like "Gods of Egypt" or "Exodus: Gods and Kings".

Overall, I am very excited to see this new "Ghost in the Shell" remake starring Scarlett Johansson.

What do you think of this film? Good? Bad? Too "whitewashed"?

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" Teaser Trailer Unveiled At MTV Movie Awards

Let the magic begin.

Along with "Suicide Squad", Warner Bros. Pictures has released a brand new full teaser trailer for the upcoming "Harry Potter" spin-off film, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", which offers us a look at a brand new world of magic, set in the beginning of the 20th century in New York City. Director David Yates, the man in the charge for the last 4 "Harry Potter" films, clearly knows how to make this magical universe look tangible and real yet very fantastical and exciting. This looks to be a [pun intended] spellbinding film with a lot of awe-inspiring moments.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" First Trailer Released

That's no moon!

The first official trailer to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has just been released and it looks incredible. Although I may have not liked "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" very much, this trailer does getting me very exciting for this new film and I am putting my faith in director Gareth Edwards because, judging by the trailer, he has made a visually stunning, dark, gritty and, most of all, unique "Star Wars" film that looks to be a showstopper.

Erik Bauersfeld, Voice of Admiral Ackbar, Dies At 93

A tragic loss to all of us "Star Wars" fans.

The man behind the voice of the fan favorite Admiral Ackbar, Erik Bauersfeld passed away today in his California home at the age of 93. Bauersfeld voiced the character in both "Return of the Jedi" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". In addition to Admiral Ackbar, he also voiced Bib Fortuna, the Twi'lek that appears in Jabba's Palace, who also appeared in "Return of the Jedi". Although Bauersfeld was never a household name to most people, he will forever be the voice of Admiral Ackbar to all the "Star Wars" fans worlds and, on their behalf, I want to thank him for making two such small supporting characters into iconic fan favorites.

May you rest in peace, Erik Bauersfeld. The Force will be with you always.
